Panic Attack Slurred Speech
Panic Attack Slurred Speech
Of all the ways to lose weight and supposed fast diet tips I have studied over the years, the one that seems to be the most misunderstood and potentially dangerous is diet soda. I have a lot friends that drink diet soda because they are under the impression that diet soda is somehow "better" than regular soda. Well I guess it depends on your definition of "better". Considering regular soda is bad to begin with, what does it mean to be better than bad?
First of all, diet soda is not really a diet product. It may not have sugar in it, but,it is also a chemically altered, high sodium (salt) and Aspartame containing product that actually makes you crave carbohydrates. As a matter of fact, rather than being one of the better ways to lose weight, it is far more likely to make you gain weight. Amazingly, the idea that diet soda is "better" for you is a very common public perception.
Furthermore, the idea of a fast diet being a good diet is typically flawed. If you want to explore effective ways to lose weight, one thing should be very clear; Natural is always best. If it says sugar free on the label, it will not help you lose weight for any sustainable length of time and it will likely have other negative side effects
Aspartame, which is present in such brand names as Nutrasweet, Equal, Spoonful and other artificial sweeteners is essentially a toxic substance. It has been linked in studies to lupus, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, spasms, numbness in the legs, cramps, vertigo, dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, joint pain, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision, and memory loss.
To illustrate how Aspartame is so dangerous one only needs to understand that when the temperature of this sweetener exceeds 86 degrees Fahrenheit, the wood alcohol in Aspartame converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis. Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. The methanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus. Aspartame has also been linked to ADD and ADHD and many other emotional disorders such as depression, mood swings, panic attacks and seizures. Children are especially at risk for neurological disorders and should never be given artificial sweeteners.
Systemic lupus has become almost as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially with diet soda drinkers. The victim is normally unaware that Aspartame is the cause. People continue to drink diet soda which only continues to irritate the condition to such a degree that it can become quite serious and possibly life-threatening. The good news is that there are many reports of cases where patients with systemic lupus become asymptomatic after they stop drinking diet sodas. In other cases of people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, most of the symptoms disappear over time. There are also reports of many cases where vision loss returned and hearing loss is improved.
Stop drinking diet sodas and look for Aspartame on food labels. There are an alarmingly large number of products that are fortified with it which is a huge problem. The original patent on Aspartame has expired so there are now over 5,000 products on the market that contain this deadly chemical and there will be thousands more introduced until the FDA does something about it. (No sense waiting for them!)
So as you can see, if you are looking for ways to lose weight and you have been under the impression that diet soda is helping you, think again. You are much better off dumping the diet soda for filtered water, fresh squeezed juice or unsweetened iced tea. For that matter, put some raw sugar or stevia in to your non-diet drink of choice and stop searching for the fast diet solution. Take baby steps with exercise and nutrition and be patient. It's a lifestyle, not a quick fix.

I'm not sure that your anxiety would be the sole cause of your physical ailments, but it sure isn't helping. When things are far enough out of order emotionally and mentally for long enough, it definitely does contribute to physical illness that may otherwise be much more understated. When was the last time you saw your doctor? You might want to seriously consider going back if your symptoms don't subside within the week.
