It's irrelevant what you do or who you are. Each one of us wants to experience life to the maximum. We want all the blessings that God has for us. Unfortunately, many people drift from the one thing that can bring complete fulfillment to our lives--devotion to Jesus Christ. When we compromise our relationship with God by allowing selfishness and material pleasures to dominate our hearts and minds, we miss the key point of our existence and suffer greatly.

Worldly possessions and their associated pleasures might be attractive for awhile, but they will never give us true peace and fulfillment. Long-lasting joy isn't derived from money, personal achievements or external gains. Instead, it comes from an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6:32-33 reads, "Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make the kingdom of God your primary concern." Jesus made it clear that living for personal gain will result in much anxiety. Materialism and worry are two enemies of spiritual growth. They work in tandem to lead us away from balanced living. Know that the essence of life is not found in possessions and that worrying about the future is not good. Our heavenly Father will take care of us and provide for our needs. If you trust God, there is no need to worry about anything.

Complete fulfillment in life is produced as a result of seeking God first and allowing Him to mold our desires based upon His plan for us. He has blessings for us that we will receive once we turn our lives completely over to Him.

God created us to be like Him. So true fulfillment apart from Him is not possible. The Almighty One states through Proverbs 8:17-19 "I love all who love me. Those who search for me will surely find me. Unending riches, honor, wealth, and justice are mine to distribute. My gifts are better than the purest gold, my wages better than sterling silver."

The priceless gifts that God has for all of us are better than any superficial or temporary possessions. The riches that the Wonderful Counselor bestows on His followers are eternal. They represent permanent treasures that money, fame, or fortune can't provide. Salvation is ours if we accept Him into our lives and trust Him.

Christians living in the USA?

born again believers in Jesus Christ as your Savior I have a question for you. Do you watch the news? Do you see what is going on in our country? Are you scared? Or do you believe the promises of God when He says He'll never leave us or forsake us?

What if you know someone who professes to be a Christian but still is FREAKING out about the political state of our contry? They watch the news 24/7 and have panic and anxiety about the gov't coming to take them away for disagreeing with them? Are they right to feel that way or is their focus on wordly things and not spiritual things? Give me some insight please.

And yes I know many nonbelievers will answer this and I just have to take it as it comes with the YA territory but this is a serious question and I am in need of Godly counsel. Thanks!
it's not me I am speaking of people! I am calm knowing that God is still on His throne and He is in control.

It is possible for a truly born again child of God to be fearful of what is going on around us. It is not "natural", but it is possible. The reason your friend is fearful is because their eyes are not on God, but on this world.

Even Peter found himself sinking in the waves when he got his eyes of off Jesus.

I would make a guess that your friend is not reading God's Word regularly, or attending a good bible believing Church regularly.

You can help them by encouraging them to get their eyes back on God. Take them to church regularly, remind them that "greater is He that is in them (God), then he that is in the world" (satan).

Keep looking up, for your redemption draws neigh.
